Lluís Ortega

Academic Director 

Ph.D. in Architectural Design (UPC), a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the Universitat de Barcelona, and M.Sc. in AAD (Columbia University). Beatriz Galindo Associate Professor of Architectural Design at ETSAV-UPC and Deputy Director of Teaching Innovation. Previously taught at institutions like Harvard GSD, IIT, and Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna. He co-directs JL-Office and has led editorial initiatives such as Quaderns d'Arquitectura. Active in curating the European Prize for Urban Public Space (2022, 2024).

     

Dionís Boixader

Ph.D. in Mathematics and expert in Geometry and Artificial Intelligence, teaching at UPC for over 30 years. His courses include topics like Geometry for Architecture and Parametric Design. As a researcher, he has published 60+ papers in Logics and Theoretical AI. Outside academia, he is a musician focusing on modern and jazz music, playing the flute and piano.

 

Marta Domènech

Serra Húnter Associate Professor of Architectural Design at ETSAB-UPC. She holds a Master’s in Advanced Architectural Design (ETSAM-UPM) and a Ph.D. from UPC. Her research integrates traditional materials and contemporary techniques, supported by grants from institutions like BBVA Foundation and Barcelona City Council. Recognized with awards such as the Barcelona Young Research Award (2020) and Surface Awards (2022), her work spans participatory urban reuse strategies and enhancing residential living. She collaborates with the REARQ group on projects focused on Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella district.

     

Martina Fabré

Architect with a Master’s in Architecture and Parametric Design from UPC. She co-founded Taller d’Arquitectura a les Golfes, merging research with sustainability-focused design. Since 2018, she has taught architectural theory and criticism at UPC. Her work emphasizes tectonic awareness and environmental adaptation.

     

Sergi Garriga


Architect and expert in History, Theory of Architecture, and Data Science. Lecturer at UPC since 2018 and responsible for the ETSAV Heritage Program since 2022, focusing on architectural preservation and innovation.

 

David López

Architect and researcher specializing in structural design. After earning his Master's in Architecture (UPM Madrid, 2010), he pursued advanced degrees in Building Technology (UPC) and Structural Analysis (SAHC). With a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, he has been a professor at UPC since 2021, previously serving as a postdoctoral fellow at ETH Zurich. Co-founder of Map13 Barcelona, his research focuses on optimizing concrete and shell structures, with works showcased globally.

    

Carles Marcos

Ph.D. Architect, Professor, and Researcher. Graduated from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC-BarcelonaTech) in 2001, receiving his Ph.D. in 2016 with the thesis "The Architecture of the Corner: Barcelona as a Case Study," awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize. He has been a Design Professor at ETSAV-UPC (2002–present) and ELISAVA (2022–present) and has taught at institutions like the University of Illinois (2017–2023), Università degli Studi di Enna (2018–2020), and others. A researcher in the HABITAR group at ETSAB-UPC, he has contributed to various publications and projects, including ReHabitar.

 

Moisés Puente

Guest Professor CoAC

Editor, translator, and curator with a focus on architectural publishing. As director of 2G magazine and founder of Puente Editores, he has published works on Mies van der Rohe, Alejandro de la Sota, and others. Recipient of accolades like the FAD Prize (2010) and the Catalan Architects' Association Medal (2021). Currently heads the library and culture department of CoAC.

 

Blanca Pujals

Blanca Pujals is a researcher, writer, filmmaker, and architect specializing in critical spatial practices. She holds a Master’s in Critical Theory and Museum Studies (MACBA-Independent Studies Programme) and a Ph.D. in Art and Science (Goldsmiths, University of London). Her research examines geopolitical configurations, techno-scientific infrastructures, and the geographies of power, supported by fully funded doctoral research and collaborations with institutions such as Arts Catalyst and CCCB. Recognized for her interdisciplinary approach, she has presented her work at venues like the Venice Architecture Biennale, FACT Liverpool, and the Miró Foundation. She has lectured at prestigious institutions, including Columbia GSAPP, RCA, and UCL’s Bartlett School. Pujals is a member of the DMAMCM working group, where she collaborates with Karen Barad and Fred Moten to explore intersections of quantum physics and social theory.

  

Amadeu Santacana

Ph.D. Architect and Serra Húnter Associate Professor at ETSAV-UPC, where he served as Chair of the Design Department (2019–2024). Visiting professor at institutions like ETSAM-UPM, Auburn University, and Penn State, his publications include Event in a World as Juxtaposition (2020) and Residential Landscapes (2022). As an editor and curator, he has organized exhibitions and authored notable works in architecture and design. Since 2020, he has been a partner at Barlebyt Studio.

   

Enrique Soriano

Architect and PhD candidate at the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). Founding partner of CODA Computational Design Affairs. Director of the MPDA Master’s Program in Parametric Design in Architecture. Associate Professor in the DRA (Architectural Representation Department) at ETSAV, UPC. Focuses research on lightweight structures using computational design..
